In Memoriam
Rich Lisowski
FOUNDER, PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (1996–2024)
Richard “Rich” Lisowski was the visionary founder and longtime President and CEO of Stored Energy Concepts, Inc. A mechanical engineer by training, Rich earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. With over 35 years of experience in the design and manufacture of electrically initiated pyrotechnic devices, he was widely regarded as an expert in his field.
Rich began his career as a co-op student at an explosives company, where he developed deep expertise in bridgewire welding and the design of electro-energetic devices such as igniters, gas generators, piston actuators, and cutters. When that company closed its facility, Rich seized the opportunity to launch his own venture—filling a critical industry need for bridge welding expertise and continuing development on technologies that would later be used in life-saving applications, including an FDA-approved wearable cardiac defibrillator.
Under Rich’s leadership, Stored Energy Concepts grew into a respected and innovative company. He was deeply committed to engineering excellence, customer satisfaction, and the well-being of his employees. His passion for the company and its mission was evident in everything he did.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rich was known for his warmth, humility, and sense of humor. He cherished time with his family, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, and found peace at his camp on a quiet lake in the woods of Maine.
Rich’s legacy lives on in the company he built, the people he mentored, and the innovations he inspired.
