- A piston actuator is electrically initiated and pyrotechnically powered to create, in milliseconds, linear action to move and retain a load or puncture a diaphragm to release a gas or a liquid under pressure, or simply indicate that another event has taken place.
- Size, electrical sensitivity and output can be tailored to specifications.
- Typical materials for housing and piston are stainless steel or brass.
